Hall of Fame
Ruane has been a member of the Adelphi University Men’s Soccer program ever since he arrived from Dagenham, England in 1981. A four-year starter for Bob Montgomery between 1981 and 1984, Ruane earned All Region honors in 1983. He was also named to the All New York State team that same year, and as an alternate for the 1983 Senior Bowl.
Ruane graduated in 1984 from Adelphi University earning a Bachelors Degree in history and completed his Masters in 1990. He was selected by the New York State Board of Regents to write and develop the United States History and Government Regents exam and the Global Students Regents exam. He has also been nominated for “Who’s Who in America” by former students on three separate occasions.
