Hall of Fame
Gladys Meyer participated in field hockey while at Adelphi and was elected to the Athletic Hall of Fame in 1978. A 1960 graduate of Adelphi, Meyer served as President of the Women’s Athletic Association in 1959 and was also elected by the Women’s Athletic Association Board to attend a conference of the New York State Athletic and Recreation Federation for College Women that same year.
Also in 1959 Meyer earned the WAA’s highest honor, the White Blazer. After graduation Meyer would become a professor at Barnard College of Columbia University.
