Frank Tashman becomes the 40th men's lacrosse student-athlete to be inducted, joining several teammates from the program's Division I era. Playing in the 1985 and 1986 seasons, Tashman was named a USILA Honorable Mention All-American and Third Team All-American, respectively. In addition to a pair of national honors in both years played, he was twice named the team’s Most Valuable player and captained the North/South Game.
On the teams for which he starred, Adelphi earned national top-10 rankings and advanced to the national quarterfinals in 1985, where it faced Johns Hopkins.
He ranks among the top-ten in four different statistical categories during the Division I era for the Panthers. He led the team in scoring, with 21 goals during the '85 season and led the team in assists with 28 in the '86 season.
Prior to Adelphi, he played for the Long Island Lacrosse Club and returned following his time with the Brown and Gold. He was also a member of the 1982 Nassau Community College National Champions before donning the Panther uniform. After that, he went on to compete with the NY-NJ Saints from 1987-1991. The club was crowned Eagle Pro Champions in 1988.
Following his time in the Brown and Gold, he transitioned to the sidelines and made his first stop at nearby Molloy College. In the 2008 season, he served as an assistant coach at New York Institute of Technology, which captured the program’s fourth NCAA Division II title. He returned to Garden City for the 2010 and 2011 seasons that saw the Panthers make an NCAA Division II national championship game appearance.
Adelphi’s Athletic Hall of Fame will be the fourth of its kind in which he is honored. He has previously been inducted into the Sewanhaka Hall of Fame (2004), the Long Island Metropolitan Lacrosse Hall of Fame (2008), and the Section VIII Nassau County High School Hall of Fame (2023).
