Pape finished her four-year career with the women’s basketball team as their all-time leading scorer with 1596 points. Her name appears in her top ten of Adelphi’s single season records in scoring, scoring avg., field goals made and field goal attempt. She helped her team compile a 57-45 record and was an All-Empire State first team selection in 1983 and again in 1984. Pape was honored as an ECAC All-Star during the 1983-84 season. An outstanding scholar, Margaret was a Dean’s List student during each of her years at Adelphi and graduated with a 3.75 grade point average. As a recipient of the Arvilla A. Nolan Award, she was recognized as the outstanding female athlete in 1984.
After completing her studies at Adelphi, Pape earned a master’s degree from Hunter College and began a career in physical therapy.
