Hall of Fame
Benoit was a three time letterwinner for the Panthers during his years at Adelphi. He was a part of two of the most successful basketball teams during that time. Over two years, from 1957-1959, he led the Panthers to a 41-15 record, two Tri-State Championships and two NCAA Regional berths. In the 1958-59 season, he helped his squad to 10 game win streak and a team record of 22-6, which was the most successful season during the school’s 13 year history. Benoit’s 117 assists of the teams’ total 293, led them to their highest finish, third, at the NCAA Regional Tournament.
