Adelphi University Athletics

Football had its beginning at Adelphi in 1946, and the team was composed primarily of war veterans just out of service.  John started at fullback for four years where he epitomized the Adelphi veteran who rose to competitive challenges and imparted spirit and leadership to his team.  Chosen for the Most Valuable Player of the Year Award in his junior year, he was the first football player to be so honored.  He served as President Principles-Association 1967-1972.
