Ruth Keen was a member of the graduating class of 1928. The Delta Delta Delta sorority member, who originally planned on becoming a teacher, received her degree in mathematics and then started on her eventual 25 years of service to Adelphi at the Brooklyn campus as a part time librarian. She was one of the first administrators to make the move to the Garden City campus when it opened and became an assistant in the Registrar’s office before being Comptroller and Assistant Treasurer. Ten years later, she became the Director of the Service Bureau, a position she held for four years, and then furthered her career by holding the position as the College’s Bursar.

Keen re-enrolled into Adelphi in 1939 in graduate school and earned her Masters degree in Psychology. Post collegiately, she remained involved with her alma mater as the recording secretary of the Alumni Association; Brooklyn Chapter. Additionally, she was named by Upsilon Psi Chi, the Psychological Fraternity as the National Organizing Secretary.
