Bohringer etched his name in the Panther Baseball history books with a .400 batting average in the 1987 season, which ranks him among the top players at Adelphi. He is also in the top-10 in career triples. Additionally, he helped his team to the Regional tournament twice and was an All-Northeast selection in 1989.
Following his career at Adelphi, Bohringer played minor league baseball in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization. He started his professional career with the Kissimee Dodgers and also played for the Bakersfield Dodgers and Vero Beach Dodgers in his rookie season. During the 1990 campaign, he saw action for the Yakima Bears and helped the Great Falls Dodgers to the Pioneer League Championship. His final year as a player in the Dodger organization was in 1991, again with the Bakersfield Dodgers.
