Hall of Fame
During his three years as a Panther baseball player, O’Connor compiled a career batting average of .391, including 170 hits. He also belted 28 home runs with 115 runs batted in. He helped his team to 78-36-2 record, including a 30-win season and a bid to the NCAA Tournament in 1984, batting .362 and smacking 12 round trippers. In 1985, O’Connor captained the squad and batted and impressive .427 for the year, with a staggering .805 slugging percentage. He also set a school-record with a 41-game win streak and earned All-America recognition in 1985.
Following his Panther career, O’Connor signed with the Minnesota Twins and went on to play two years of minor league baseball.
