Kaitlyn Carter established herself as one of the Adelphi women’s lacrosse team's premier standouts across a tenure of record-setting seasons, in which the Panthers became the first-ever women’s program in Division II to win three consecutive NCAA Division II National Championships.

Kaitlyn Carter ’11 (M.Ed. ’18) was a standout midfielder for the Adelphi University women’s lacrosse program during one of its most dominant eras — a “dynasty” in which the Panthers put up an overall record of 73-2 over four seasons.

Hailing from nearby Mineola, New York, she made an immediate impact as a freshman, starting in all 17 games that she played in and helping lead the team deep into the postseason.

She was tabbed the East Coast Conference and Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year following her inaugural season, a campaign highlighted by 61 points (48 goals, 13 assists) and a trip to the national semifinals. In subsequent years, Carter's dominance only grew.

She earned IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-America honors in each of her first two seasons (2008, 2009), including a First Team All-America selection in 2009, and was also named to multiple All-Region and All-Conference First Teams. She consistently delivered on the sport’s biggest stages, punctuated by standout performances in the NCAA Division II Tournament — most notably scoring five goals in the 2010 National Championship game and earning All-Tournament recognition. She remains ranked inside the top-10 in career goals (9th), game-winning goals (3rd) and free-position goals (7th).

Carter was also part of the program’s first and second Northeast 10 Conference Championship titles – which kickstarted a streak of seven titles in eight seasons for the Brown and Gold.

Off the field, Carter balanced her athletic excellence with academic achievement. Her performance and leadership, both on and off the field, helped define a golden era for Adelphi women’s lacrosse.
