Alexander competed three years for the Panther’s cross country and track and field teams. He competed in five events; 440-yard, 220-yard low hurdles, the broad jump, 220-yard dash and the mile relay. During his time at Adelphi, the Panther team never lost a dual meet. Alexander’s best year was 1951, highlighted by an outstanding performance against Brooklyn Poly Tech Institute, where he won the 220, the 440 and the broad jump. That same year, he was a member of the first place Mile Relay, which brought home Adelphi’s first-ever top place finish at Penn Relays.
