Walker was a part of NCAA Championship winning relays, a two-time world record holder, school record holder, IC4A and AAU champion and an eight-time All-American. His freshman year, he set school records in the 100 and 220-yard dashes clocking 9.6 and 20.9 respectively, making him one of the fastest freshman in the country at the time. He was a member of the 1970 and ’71 NCAA Outdoor Mile relay championship team, placed second in the 200 meter dash, and fifth in the 100 meter dash. At the Penn Relays, he ran on the 880-yard relay team and also the mile relay team in which both captured Adelphi’s first ever Championship of America titles.
