Hall of Fame
Dooley was a two-sport athlete at Adelphi participating in both softball and field hockey.
She was a starting member of the nationally ranked field hockey team that finished the regular season 9-2 and earned the school’s only trip to the NCAA Division II Championships in 1981.
As a centerfielder for the Panthers, she was twice named a Division I second team All-American (1984 and 1985) and a first team all-region selection. She helped Adephi to three NCAA Tournament berths, including back-to-back NCAA Division I College World Series appearances in 1984 and 1985 with the team finishing fifth each year. For her efforts, she was twice named to the NCAA DI World Series All-Tournament Team.
She still remains in the top-ten in Adelphi career runs scored, hits, triples, stolen bases and walks.
Dooley graduated from Adelphi in 1985 with a BA in physical education. She was a member of the USA Fastpitch Team which competed in the 1984 Olympics as an exhibition sport. They captured the gold medal.Â

She currently resides in Florida and serves as head softball coach at Forest High School since 1998. Â She has been named the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA), District 7, 4A Coach of the Year and the FACA District 7A, 6A Coach of the Year.
