Robert is a three time co-captain for the Panthers, Engelke was a key member of the 1979 team which compiled a 13-3 record and won the NCAA Division II National Championship.  During that season, Engelke was named “Player of the Year”, “Attackman of the Year”, and “Most Valuable Player” of the championship game.  Engelke finished his Adelphi years with several records, some of which still stand.  Among these records are the most points in a career (364), most assists in a career (269), and most assists in a season (79).  He was a member of both the 1982 and 1984 United States Lacrosse Team at the World Championships and was the second leading scorer on the team in 1982.
