Fanning, a member of the Class of 1952, climaxed his varsity career by winning the Outstanding College Athlete of the Year award for the 1951-52 season.
A four year letter winner in football, Fanning also competed in lacrosse and wrestling. In the 1952 lacrosse season, he was the high scorer for the Brown and Gold stickmen.
In addition to his accomplishments on the athletic field, Fanning also served as the President of the Men’s Athletic Association and was elected to “Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities.”
