Springfield, Mass. - Following two days of competition at the Northeast-10 Conference Outdoor Championships, the Adelphi University track and field team claimed fifth palce on the women's side behind 78 points while 50 points helped the men earn seventh place. In the process for the women,
Mary Camarano won two championships during a pair of hurdle events at American International College.
Camarano put forth a NCAA provisional qualifying time during the 400 meter hurdles by running a season-best 1:01.79 to claim one first place honor. Durding the 100 meter distance, the junior ran her best time during the preliminaries with a 14.60 clocking for a season-best and first place. She then posted a 14.61 during the finals to also earn the top spot.
On the men's side of the hurdle events,
Luke Pascale raced to a 15.07 for first place during the preliminary races of the 110 meter distance. He followed up with a season-best time of 14.96 to earn a second place showing, falling short of first place by .01. Later in the 400 meter hurdles, the junior collected third place at a time of 55.11 while
Kenneth Coleman joined him within the top-eight at sixth place on a time of 56.20.
Bettering her season-best time in the 400 meter,
Angela Mongitore increased her NCAA provisional position timing to 54.68 that collected eight points for the Panthers in second place.
Nicole Elarde and
Gabriela Saltos put forth point earning finishes during the 800 meter in third and sixth places with respective time of 2:17.65 and 2:20.63. Meanwhile, three male finishers during the men's 800 meter earned points for the Brown and Gold.
William Marois led the group with a fourth place time of 1:54.52 followed by
Michael Grady's 1:54.89 fifth palce showing.
Anthony Seara rounded out the group in seventh at 1:55.39.
Other individual finishes included
Aleisha Jeffers going from eighth place to fourth place during the preliminary to final race of the 100 meter by first running a 12.82 followed by a time of 12.71. Three fifth place finishes helped 12 points for Adelphi that included
Emily Hagarty accumulating 3,251 points during the heptathlon.
Patrick Sheehan landed a discus throw of 41.97 meters to claim fifth while
Michael Grady ran a 3:56.29 during the 1,500 meter.
Jose Velasquez gained a point for the Panthers during the 3,000 meter steeplechase by recording a 10:00.56 clocking.
Three different relays participated on both sides for the Brown and Gold this weekend, resulting in three second place finishes. The quartet of
Seona Maloney and
Taylor Velez along with Saltos and Elarde earned eight points in the 4x800 meter relay behind a 9:33.72 time. On the men's side, Seara,
Anthony Coccia,
Michael Grady, and
Sean Grady finished in 7:39.75 to also earn second place. The third relay runner-up came for the women in the 4x400 as Saltos, Mongitore, Elarde, and Camarano combined for a finish of 3:55.19. Meanwhile, the men's group of
Austin Drescher, Pascale, Seara, and Coleman turned in a fifth place showing of 3:22.12.
The relay finishes were rounded out with seventh and eighth place showing in the 4x100 meter. The women claimed seventh as
Ena Otaka,
Idongesit Ekong, Jeffers, and
Christina Dutcher posted a time of 50.01 followed by Drescher, Pascale, Coleman, and
Taylor Costello finishing in 46.11 for eighth.

- American International won the men's side of the NE-10 Championships while the women's championship was won by Stonehill.
