New Haven, Conn. - With their highest outdoor championship point total to-date, the Adelphi University men's outdoor track and field program finished fifth at the 2026 Northeast 10 Championship.
Southern Connecticut men's outdoor track and field won the 2026 Northeast 10 Outdoor Track & Field championships, winning their ninth straight title and 22nd overall. The Owls scored 291 points, well ahead of Franklin Pierce, who finished second with 129.
Highlights:
- Jabari Holder was the men's lone gold medalist at the championship, taking first in his specialty, triple jump. With a 14.78m leap, he topped the field, while also placing fifth in the long jump and 12th in the high jump.
- Ryan Moritz used personal best performances in the shotput and hammer throw to pick up points for his squad. He used a 15.24m launch in the shotput to place third overall for his first collegiate outdoor podium. His 48.41m attempt in the hammer was good enough to place fourth overall in just his second season competing. Last season, he finished fifth in the shotput and 17th in the hammer throw.
- Maxwell Krapf picked up his first outdoor medal when he finished third in the men's 5000, clocking in at 15:13.44. Also in a distance event, senior Jake Orfano capped his career with a silver medal showing in the 10,000 meter event, using a personal best time of 31:54.33 to place second in the competitive field.
- David Williams and Daniel Carsey each earned a spot in the men's 110 hurdles finals and ultimately placed third and fourth, respectively. This marks Williams' third time making the podium for the specialty.
- Deven Bernardin and Jack Coyne both made the finals of the men's 800 meter event, placing fourth and seventh, respectively to earn points.
- Jayson Plaza, Krapf, Coyne and Bernardin kept the podium streak alive for the 4x800, clocking in at 7:54.54 to earn bronze.
- Nicholas Maltese earned four points for the Panthers when he completed his first collegiate decathlon, placing fifth in the field. A pair of fourth place showings in the javelin and pole vault helped him finished with 4,011 points overall.
Adelphi's finish supports the overall standings and men's cup standings for the NE10 Presidents Cup. Following the conclusion of the indoor season, Adelphi was second in the overall and men's cup while appearing at no. 3 for the women's cup.
