Staten Island/Huntington, N.Y. - With a week remaining until the Northeast-10 Conference Championships, the Adelphi University track and field program split up on Friday with competitors going to the Fastrack National Invite at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island while other individuals took part in the Molloy Invite at Saint Anthony's in Hungtingon.
Sean Grady highlighted the day in Staten Island with a first place showing in the 800 meter behind a winning time of 1:53.36. The time also qualifies as an NCAA provisional time in addition to ranking as the second best time in the NE-10. Grady's younger brother,
Michael Grady, posted a fifth place time of 4:17.00 in the mile to lead the Panthers.
The lone women's group to participate in the Invite was the quartet in the 4x400 meter relay.
Mary Camarano,
Angela Mongitore, Nicoel Elarde, and
Gabriela Saltos combined for a 3:55.32 clocking to post ninth place.
Both sides of the program enjoyed many top-10 finishes on both the track and in the field.
Luke Pascale turned in the top time in the 60 meter hurdles for the NE-10 this season thus far with a 8.32 showing in the preliminaries for second place. In the finals, Pascale finished in fourth at 8.48. During the mile run,
Steven Mosher placed second behind a 4:40.70 clocking while
Justin Macari landed sixth at 4:45.31.
Dylan Picart claimed seventh place in the 800 meter at 2:02.57.
On the track for the women, three individuals finished within the top-10 during the 800 meter, led by a third place time of 2:25.48 from
Christina Dutcher.
Seona Maloney finished just behind at 2:25.62 for fourth before
Taylor Velez clocked in at 2:30.38 for seventh. Maloney also added a second place finish in the mile at 5:21.00 while
Cecelia Capozzoli finished sixth at 5:35.36.
Aleisha Jeffers also turned in two top-10 finishes, first in the 400 meter with a 1:03.67 time for 10th before a fifth place, 26.82 clocking in the 200 meter. Starting the day was Shannon Aulette in the 5,000 meter, taking fourth place at 21:16.27.
In the field, three men all earned fourth place in their respective events.
Austin Drescher posted a 6.89 meter distance in the long jump followed by a 13.30 triple jump from
Kip Jackson.
Travis Mielko landed a weight throw of 15.95 meters. Meanwhile,
Myrika Harding nearly matched Mielko for the women with a weight throw of 15.32 meters for second place.
Shelby Smith claimed sixth place behind a 12.79 meter throw.
Emily Hagarty was busy on the day with three different events inside the top-10. Her best was a third place showing in the polve vault, completing a leap of 2.90 meters. Meanwhile, she also registered eighth place in the long jump at 5.00 meters while she posted 10th place in the triple jump at 9.82 meters.
The NE-10 Indoor Championships are set for 4:00 pm next Saturday in Boston, Mass.

Elizabeth Eickelberg ('14) finished with a personal record of 16:40 in the 5k at the Boston University Valentine Day Invite last night.
- Currently, the Panthers head into next weekend's NE-10 Championships with 22 individuals times within the top-10 of the conference.
