Lewisburg, Pa./Kings Point, N.Y. - The Adelphi University track and field program split this weekend with individuals traveling to Bucknell University for the two-day Bison Outdoor Classic in addition to some competitors going to the Coach Omeltchenko Invitational.
At Bucknell, two NCAA provisional qualifying times were met for the Panthers as both came in the 800 meter distance.
Sean Grady clocked in a 1:51.50 for sixth place during the men's event while
Nicole Elarde raced to a 2:13.22 for 15th place during the women's. Elarde's time marks the best time of the season on the NE-10 performance list with Grady sitting second on the men's side.
Mary Camarano continued her presence at the top fo the performance list with two events. A ninth place time of 1:03.00 during the 400 meter hurdles posted her first in the NE-10 while a 100 meter hurdles clocking of 14.71 gave her second in the event as well as on the NE-10 list.
Luke Pascale also finished ninth in the men's 400 meter hurdles at 54.92 to take third among the NE-10 best. Meanwhile,
Angela Mongitore ran a 56.97 during the 400 meter for sixth place.
Eight top-five finishes led the effort by the Brown and Gold in Kings Point, highlighted by a second place time of 10:18.87 for
Steven Mosher in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.
Seona Maloney claimed the lone third place finish of the day with a 5:01.78 showing in the 1,500 meter.
In the field,
Patrick Sheehan and
Shelby Smith earned fourth place finishes during respective throwing events. Sheehan landed a discus throw of 41.85 meters before Smith landed a 38.52 meter hammer throw.
Myrika Harding claimed fifth place in the discus at 29.72 meters in addition to a fifth place, 11.93-meter shotput from
Tyler Fielding. Fifth place was secured in two more events, as
Catherine Olsen and
Justin Macari raced respective times of 21:00.08 and 16:44.16 in the 5,000 meter races.
Next on the schedule for the Panthers is the upcoming two-day Larry Ellis Invite hosted by Princeton starting on Friday.
Notes:
- Mongitore's best 400 meter time this season is 56.01, third best in the NE-10.
- In total, Adelphi has 16 marks within the top-five of the
NE-10 peformance list with the Championships scheduled for May 6.
