Staten Island, N.Y. - For the third straight week, the Adelphi University track and field program made the short trip to Staten Island to compete at the Ocean Breeze Complex. This week, the Brown and Gold participated in the NYC Gotham Cup as
Angela Mongitore continued to lower her NCAA provisional qualfying time in the 400 meter.
Taking fourth place overall in the race, Mongitore ran a 55.94 clocking that helped land her fifth currently on the NCAA list. The senior improves upon her 56.48 time she ran last week during the Spartan Regional Invite.
On the men's side,
Matthew Moody posted a seventh place finish during the 5,000 meter distance by completing the race in 15:29.40. Meanwhile,
Sean Grady also posted a top-ten finish with a 2:32.39 time in the 1,000 meter.
Luke Pascale sprinted to a 8.46 during the 60 meter hurdles while
Anthony Coccia came in 13th with a 1:58.74 time in the 800 meter. On the field,
Travis Mielko came in sixth place after a weight throw of 14.59 meters.
Next on the docket for the Panthers is the Tufts Stampede on Friday in Medford, Mass.
