Brandenton, Fla. -- For the final time in her collegiate career, Angela Mongitore took to the track at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships in the 400 meter run, looking to reach Saturday's final race at this year's meet, hosted by the University of Tampa and IMG Academy.

Finishing fourth in her heat with a time of 55.21, Mongitore eventually landed in the 10th position overall, outside of the spots to qualify for the finals. However, she out-performed her seed, 14th, by four places to cap her career in her final collegiate race, as Merrimack's Carly Muscaro recorded the top time of 52.03. 

Mongitore concludes her career as a five-time qualifer for NCAA Championships across the indoor and outdoor seasons, and a three-time All-American in the 400m. 

During the 2015 outdoor championships, Mongitore set a personal best of 54.63 during the 400 meter finals to earn fifth place. This year, her personal best of 54.68 came during the Northeast-10 Conference Outdoor Championships to land her on the All-Conference Second Team. The Massapequa, N.Y. native placed within the top-eight at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Championships and the 2016 NCAA Indoor Championships. Her first All-American performance in the 400m came during the 2014 Indoor Championships.
