Easton, Mass. - The Adelphi University women's track and field 4x400 defended its relay title for the third consecutive outdoor season, wrapping up a seven-medal outing for the program that placed fifth at this year's Northeast-10 Conference Outdoor Championships.

Southern New Hampshire won the program's first NE10 Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday afternoon, edging out defending champion AIC.

The Penmen finished with 176.6 points overall through the two-day event, while the Yellow Jackets were second with 135. Stonehill placed third with 129 points while Southern Connecticut was close behind in fourth with 120 points. Adelphi and Franklin Pierce tied for fifth with 76 points.

The quartet of Gabrielle Griffin, Isabel and Katherine Marsh, with Gabrielle Buissereth as the anchor won its third consecutive 4x400 in a time of 3:53.93, nearly one second faster than the group from Southern Connecticut State.

Griffin's effort in the 400 hurdles saw her pick up a bronze medal, crossing the tape in 1:03.09. Teammate Roth was not far behind as she came through in 1:05.27 to earn fifth place in the field.

Buissereth battled down the stretch in the 400 meter dash, but came up short for the top spot, placing second in a time of 56.26, a mark good enough for IC4A/ECAC qualification standards.

An impressive race in the 800 finals, the Marsh sisters came in as the 1-2 with Isabel just .12 seconds behind Katherine to earn gold and silver. Additionally, the 4x800 relay which featured the Marsh sisters alongside Beatriz Chavarria and Alexis Roth repeated their title with a top-finish in the event in a time of 9:31.37 to end the first day of action.

Amari Johnson, who placed second in the indoor championships for the 100 hurdles, added a bronze to her resume in the Outdoor season, in a time of 14.63.

A notable finish for Lauren Toland in the pole vault, as she just starting competing in the specialty this season, placed fourth after clearing a height of 3.06 meters.
