New Brunswick, NJ - After a full day at the Wilton Wright Invite, members of the Adelphi University track and field program ended the weekend at the Rutgers Relays, which featured Division-I heavy competition.
Men's Highlights:
- Deven Bernardin and Jack Coyne, who landed on the podium in the indoor season for the 800, were the sixth and seventh finishers, respectively, both clocking in at the 1:55 minute.
- Maxwell Krapf ran his first collegiate 1500 for the outdoor season, clocking in at 4:02.05 to finish eighth in the field. The mid-distance crew kept it rolling with a 5000 sixth place showing from Jake Orfano. he went 15:31.99, lowering his time from a week ago nearly 15 seconds.
- David Williams was the top-Division II finisher in the 110 hurdles, coming in .04 behind the top competitor out of Lafayette.
- The men's hammer throw was highlighted by a seventh place finish from Nicholas Paul, who landed a 46.53m launch on his third attempt.
Women's Highlights:
- Valencia Beaubrun finished third in the long jump competition, using an attempt of 5.74m to beat out a Division-I heavy field. The winner was a senior out of Rutgers, who leapt 6.18m.
- Brooke Bowen used a 13.14 finish in the 100 for a personal best mark as Kayla Esposito ran a 25.74 for a collegiate best finish in the 200. The pair teamed up with Sharever Blair and Valencia Beuabrun to put together a 50.00 flat in the 4x100 relay event.
The team will head back to TCNJ to compete at the Lions Invite, starting on Friday, April 24.
