Garden City, N.Y- The Adelphi University campus will be buzzing with alumni during the first-ever Spirit Weekend beginning on Friday Oct.13 through Sunday Oct.15.

Multiple spring season teams will be holding their annual alumni games throughout the weekend, opening with women's lacrosse on Friday and closing out with baseball on Sunday. 

At 12 p.m. on Sunday, the current baseball team will go head-to-head with past Panthers in their annual alumni contest at William J. Bonomo Field. The friendly matchup will encompass the weekend's theme of "All together for the first time ever," as the players face-off with the postgrads. During the 2017 season, the Adelphi University baseball team completed an overall record of 24-24, with a winning record of 12-7 on their home field. 

Participants interested are encouraged to RSVP prior to attending the event.

Spirit Weekend is open to all alumni, family, and friends commencing on Friday with both the women's and men's lacrosse games at 6 and 7 p.m. The following day, swimming and diving face their alumni at 11 a.m., followed by softball at 12 p.m. on Saturday.

In addition to the annual alumni games, Adelphi's Spirit Weekend includes a variety of events with opportunities for everyone to participate in including: Casino Night (Friday), the 'Panthers for a Cause 5K,' and a Carnival (Saturday), concluding the weekend with pumpkin picking and a Broadway extravaganza.

Men's soccer will also face Merrimack College at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15 in NE10 action.
