Garden City, NY – Four goals in the second half allowed the Adelphi University men's soccer team secure a 5-2 victory against Stonehill earlier today in a Northeast-10 Conference match at Motamed Field.

A pair of freshmen, Connor O'Brien and Adam Branco, came in for reserve duty to score both of Stonehill's (3-2-1/1-1 NE-10) goals. O'Brien also picked up an assist. Junior goalie Luke Besse made five saves in the first 78 minutes for the Skyhawks.
Senior back
John Sabal sent a cross in from the left flank that was directly headed into the top right corner by De Oliveira for the opening goal in the eighth minute. The Panthers went into the halftime with that 1-0 lead along with a 10-6 shot advantage and 5-1 benefit in corners.
Less than two minutes into the second half, Aguiar put in his first mark of the game off a deflection in the box for a 2-0 Adelphi lead. O'Brien cut the Panther lead in half during the 56th minute with another scramble in front of the net. Aguiar again grew the lead to two goals with a strike of the right foot during the 63rd minute.
O'Brien continued his effort for the Skyhawks by finding Branco on a 2v2 by crossing a ball from the right side that Branco one touched into the net. Nearly two mintes later, Aguiar completed his hat trick on a through ball from De Oliveira. Zuniga completed the scoring with a penalty kick after a foul in the box with nearly 15 minutes remaining in the contest.
The Panthers finished wrapped up the match behind a 21-15 shot advantage and a 7-5 margin in corners.
