Men's Basketball Bounced by The Ravens, 65-54

The Panthers trailed by just one at the half, 27-26.

Box Score Rindge, NH - The Adelphi University men's basketball team traveled to Rindge, New Hampshire on Wednesday, January 29 to meet up with Northeast-10 Conference power, Franklin Pierce University. The Panthers trailed by just one at the half, 27-26, but were out scored by 10 after intermission, falling 65-54. The loss drops the Brown and Gold to 4-15 overall and 2-11 in conference, while the Ravens improve to 15-3 and 10-3 in NE-10 action.

Anthony Libroia paced the Panther offense with a game-high 21 points and chipped in four assists, while teammate Duane Morgan joined Libroia in double figures with 13 points. Boris Fodouop grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds in the loss and while Ryan DeNicola grabbed eight misses to go along with six points.

Adelphi jumped out to an early 6-0 lead behind buckets from DeNicola, Libroia and Fodouop, but the hosts responded with a 12-2 run and clung to a 12-8 lead at the 12:49 mark of the first half. However, Adelphi hung tough, using a 16-7 run of their own to take a five point lead, on a Libroia triple, 24-19, with just 1:57 left before the half.

But, Franklin Pierce held the Panthers to just two points in the final 1:57 and reeled off eight of their own, including a bucket with just 37 seconds on the clock to take a one point lead into the locker room, 27-26.

The opening minutes of the second half remained tight, as a DeNicola lay-up with 14:48 remaining in the contest knotted the action at 35. But, a Raven lay-up sparked a 21-13 spurt that put Adelphi in a nine point hole, 56-47, with seven minutes left in the contest. Adelphi would get as close as four points, 56-52, on a Libroia three pointer with 3:39 left, but were held to just two points thet rest of the way,  falling 65-54.
