As a team, St. Rose shot 46.2 percent from the floor, connecting on 24 of 52 attempts.

A two-point jumper from Brown at the 18:33 mark in the opening half was Adelphi's only field goal in the first nine minutes of action. They missed nine straight attempts from the floor while St. Rose pushed out to an 18-2 lead. It was not until the 11:23 mark when the Panthers saw their second field goal which was scored by Ranglin to make it an 18-4 affair.

The Brown and Gold pulled within 11 with the clock showing 10:18 as a result of a converted three-point play by Calarco but would get no closer in the half. St. Rose built an 18 point cushion in the latter stages of the half and would head into halftime with a 34-16 lead on the Panthers.

After a made free throw from Pope and a jumper by Milka, the Panthers found themselves down by 19 points in the early stages of the final frame. Over the next 2:26, Ranglin accounted for six of Adelphi's 10 points and held the Albany based squad to just a single free throw, cutting the deficit to 10 at 38-28. Using the momentum from the 10-1 run, back to back layups from Calarco and Bradley Simpson brought Adelphi to within seven points.

After a St. Rose timeout, six straight points from Sayre brought the visitors' lead back to double figures, 49-36, with 8:29 remaining.
