Worcester, Mass. - The Adelphi University baseball team wrapped up a three-game weekend series at Assumption College with a 15-6 win at Rocheleau Field on Sunday. The Panthers improve to 15-16 overall and 5-4 in the Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division, while the Greyhounds drop to 8-19 overall.

Adelphi sluggers Anthony Zarrella and Jamie Liebowitz drove in a combined nine runs on the day, powering the Panther offense that ripped 17 hits. Liebowitz hit a three-run homer as part of a four-run fourth inning, and Zarrella knocked a bases-clearing double in the seventh. Richard Mejia doubled twice and scored twice, Craig Matteo and Nick Zito each had three singles, and Donato Signore ripped a pair of base hits.

On the mound, Mike Cranston improved to 4-0 on the season, allowing three runs and scattering six hits in seven innings of work. John Donnelly threw two innings of relief and struck out four batters.

The Panthers posted four multiple-run innings and posted a whopping 11 runs between the second, third and fourth frames. A four-run seventh, keyed by Zarrella's three-run two-bagger, put the game out of reach and helped Adelphi pull within a game of .500 on the season.

Adelphi returns to action on Tuesday at Pace University at 3:30 p.m.
