Rindge, NH – Earlier this evening, men's basketball team took on the Ravens of Franklin Pierce in the Northeast-10 Conference game of the week. The Panthers struggled from the field throughout the game and tallied their lowest point total of the year as they dropped the game, 61-45. With the loss, Adelphi moves to 11-3, 8-3 NE-10 while Franklin Pierce advances to 11-4, 7-4 NE-10.

Robert Johnson was the lone Panther in double digit scoring, leading his team with 12 points while Bradley Simpson, Chris Ranglin and Duane Morgan all chipped in with six points apiece.

From early on, the Panthers couldn't find their stroke and finished 19 of 51 from the field at the conclusion of the game. Adelphi has been strong throughout the year with their performance from the charity stripe, but made just four of 12 attempts on the night.
The opening frame was a low scoring affair on both ends of the spectrum with each team shooting under 32 percent from the field. Simpson proved to be the most efficient shooter on the floor, sinking two of three field goal attempts and going 1-2 from the foul line.

Eleven of Franklin Pierce's 23 points came off the hands of Ryen Vilmont who was 4-8 from the field including two treys. With just under five minutes until halftime, Adelphi led 19-16. However, the Panthers went cold, missing their final seven shots and enabling the hosts to end the half on a 7-0 run and setting them back 23-19 after the first 20 minutes of play.

In the closing act, Franklin Pierce turned their game around, connecting on half of their field goals including a game changing seven second half three pointers. After a quite first, Johnson came to life totaling 10 second half points, but it was not enough to match FPU's Ellis Cooper and Eric Van Oostrum's combine 23 points.

Adelphi suffered a 20-4 run spanning just over 12 minutes which set them back by twenty with 7:53 remaining. The deficit proved to be insurmountable as a Morgan layup with 30 seconds left was the final bucket of the game as the Panthers found themselves on the short end of the score board.

The Brown and Gold return to action on Tuesday, January 17 when they travel to Waltham, Massachusetts for a NE-10 matchup against Bentley. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
