North Attleboro, Mass. - Finishing as last year's runner-up, the Adelphi University men's golf team was selected to win this year's Northeast 10 Championship, as announced by the league office on Friday.

The Panthers garnered 33 total points with four first place votes to lead all seven teams in the pre-championship poll. Their fall has consisted of one team win, at the Charger Challenge in September, hosted by Dominican University. The squad returns the  2026 NE10 Rookie of the Year in Zeus Sara, as well as three other all-conference honorees from last season. The Panthers have won five conference championships in program history (most recently in 2023) and look to add another next week.

Southern New Hampshire (SNHU), the two-time reigning NE10 champions, finished second in the poll with 29 points and a pair of first-place votes. Bentley was third with 27 points and one first-place vote, while Assumption was fourth (22 points), Saint Anselm was fifth (18 points), Franklin Pierce was sixth (11 points) and American International (AIC) was seventh (7 points).

SNHU won the 2025 NE10 Championship by four strokes over Adelphi, highlighted by Andrew Surprenant who won Gordon McCullough Memorial Award medalist honors after a historic performance - posting the lowest 18-hole score (65) and lowest 54-hole score (205) in NE10 Championship history.

Mitchell Archer, Ike Rothman and Zeus Sara each also concluded the school year with All-Region recognition. Archer also received a flurry of academic awards alongside his course play, as the NE10 Sport Excellence winner, Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar and NE10 Academic All-Conference selection.

NE10 and East Region Coach of the Year David Mattana is in his sixth season at the helm, bringing the team to their best finish of his tenure last season.

Round one of the two-day tournament will kick off on Monday, Oct. 19 at the Twins Hills Country Club. The first tee time on Monday is at 8 a.m. Live score updates will be available on Scoreboard, powered by Clippd.
