Suffern, N.Y. - The Adelphi University men's golf team took first place at the Charger Challenge, hosted by Dominican University, which wrapped up on Tuesday.

The Panthers were led by Zeus Sara, who claimed the individual title, while three other Adelphi golfers finished inside the top five.

The team finished the two-day tournament with a combined score of 13-over, outpacing runner-up Post University by 19 strokes and third-place Felician by 38 strokes.

Sara claimed his second individual tournament title in a matter of days, following his first-place finish at the George Cangero Invitational on Sunday. The sophomore led the field after day one, carding a one-under (71) and a one-over (73) through his first two trips around Spook Rock Golf Course. In the final round, Sara was lights out, firing a two-under (70) for his best round of the tournament to secure the individual crown. He totaled 12 birdies over 54 holes.

Domenick Caponi enjoyed a breakout performance while competing as an individual, finishing as the runner-up at even-par for the tournament. After carding rounds of three-over (75) and one-over (73) on day one, the sophomore shot a career-best four-under (68) in the final round to lock up second place. His final round featured six birdies.

Mitchell Archer finished fourth individually at three-over for the tournament. After shooting a four-over (76) and a two-over (74) on day one, Archer caught fire in the final round, carding a three-under (69). His final 18 featured two eagles on holes six and 15, along with a birdie.

Ike Rothman finished tied for fifth at four-over. Much like the rest of the Panthers, Rothman's best round came on day two. After shooting a three-over (75) and a one-over (73) in his first two rounds, Rothman carded an even-par (72) over his final 18 holes.

Noah Grimaldi secured a top-15 finish at 13-over for the tournament. After shooting an eight-over (80) followed by a five-over (77) on day one, the freshman closed with an even-par (72) in the final round.

Ahaan Dhir and Nicholas Prosa also competed as individuals for the Brown and Gold, with each finishing inside the top 20 in a tie for 16th. Both sophomores finished the tournament at 15-over. Dhir's best round came in the opener, when he shot a three-over (75), while Prosa finished strong with a two-over (74) in his final round.

Head coach David Mattana and the Panthers return to action on Monday (Sept. 28) at the Sunnehanna Intercollegiate at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pa.
