East Meadow, N.Y. - Zeus Sara shared his first individual title of the season as the Adelphi men's golf team finished eighth at the George Cangero Invitational at Eisenhower Park's Red Course.

The tournament was shortened to one round after Sunday's final round was canceled due to weather, making Saturday's opening-round scores final.

As a team, the Brown and Gold finished the tournament at +28, placing eighth in the 14-team field. The Panthers finished one stroke behind sixth-place Hartford and Swarthmore and three strokes ahead of ninth-place SUNY Delhi.

Sara led the way for Adelphi, firing a -1 (71) to finish in a three-way tie atop the individual leaderboard. The sophomore shared first place honors with Farmingdale State's Jacob Andersen and North Carolina Wesleyan's Charlie Wiltshire.

The sophomore's round featured four birdies, including three on the front nine before adding another on the 12th hole. He closed out his round with three consecutive pars to remain atop the leaderboard and secure a share of the individual title.

Competing as an individual, Ahaan Dhir also turned in a strong performance for the Panthers, carding a +2 (74) to finish tied for sixth.

Noah Grimaldi, also competing individually, finished tied for 11th after shooting a +3 (75).

Mitchell Archer finished tied for 34th at +8 after carding an 80, while Ike Rothman followed one stroke behind with a +9 (81) to finish tied for 38th.

Head coach David Mattana and the Panthers return to action at the Dominican Invitational at Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern, N.Y. The two-day tournament will begin on Monday, Sep. 14, and conclude on Tuesday, Sep. 15.
