Garden City, N.Y. - Ahead of the 2025-26 season, Head Coach Marc Danin has added Joan Cash (UCLA '25) to his coaching staff, he announced this week. 

Cash returns home to Long Island as a Long Beach native and Sacred Heart Academy graduate and grew up swimming with the Long Island Aquatics club. 

"From my experiences as a former athlete, I've become passionate about helping individuals learn and grow into the best version of themselves," said Cash. "I look forward to supporting and encouraging each student-athlete's growth at Adelphi both in and out of the pool and helping wherever needed."

During her time at UCLA, Cash was a three-time UCLA Director's Honor Roll honoree, and was part of the 2023 Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll while competing in the freestyle and butterfly (as well as individual medley) events. 

"We are very excited for Joan to join our staff," said Head Coach Marc Danin, who enters his fifth season at the helm in 2025-26. "Her time spent at the Division I level will bring a different energy to our lanes for the upcoming season."

"While being a Bruin, I had all the resources to become the best version of myself. I was able to gain so much knowledge and lived experience for success in the student athlete lifestyle and beyond, so I am eager to help foster that holistic development at Adelphi and bring this team to the next level individually, and athletically."

The Adelphi University swimming and diving program will begin the campaign on Friday, October 10 at the University of Bridgeport.
