Worcester, Mass. - For the third consecutive season, the Adelphi University women's swimming and diving program has posted a sixth place finish at the 2026 Northeast 10 Conference Championship meet, held over four days at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute Sports and Recreation Center.

Emily Munayirji landed on the podium for the third consecutive season in the 200 backstroke, earning a silver medal for her time of 2:05.66, which was four seconds faster than her prelim time (2:09.19). This new mark is not only a personal best for the outgoing swimmer, but will also stand as a new Adelphi record. She also placed fifth in the A-final for the 100 backstroke, posting a sub-60 second time of 59.54.
Adelphi's relays were once again a highlight for the championship meet - as Munayirji was part of the women's 800 freestyle relay that set a new Panther record.

Maya Bieganowski and Munayirji opened the meet with a 7:57.44 to place sixth overall, tacking on a quick 30 points to the team total.
Finishing just three seconds from the gold medal-winners, Moran, Pusing, Tula and Munayirji teamed up for a sixth place showing in the 200 medley relay, clocking in at 1:51.77.
Aizel Pusing came in fourth in the 50 free B-final, clocking in at 25.04 and then later helped the women's 200 freestyle relay to a fifth place showing for another 32 points. She was joined by Bieganowski, Moran and
Isabella Chang for a time of 1:39.48 - which stood just four seconds off the top finishers from Felician.
Pusing also used a personal best in the B-final of 2:30.89 to place fourth in the 200 breaststroke.
Daniela Zunich was responsible for a season-best time of
5:11.69 in the B-final of the 400 individual medley to add on to the team's total score as Tula placed third in the 100 butterfly B-final, nearly swimming a minute flat at 1:00.32.
Bieganowski had a busy weekend of competition and topped the field of the B-final for the women's 200 freestyle race, clocking in at 1:59.56 for a new lifetime best in the specialty. She also posted a personal best as part of the 200 free relay, with a 24.90 split as the leadoff of the race.
On the diving board, Melaney Arevalo finished fifth overall with a finals score of 218.35 to earn 14 points for the squad.
Adelphi concludes the 2026 campaign, scoring 274 points at the championship meet.
