North Attleboro, Mass. — Adelphi University's men's golf team has been voted first in the 2025 Northeast 10 pre-championship poll, as announced by the conference on Friday morning.
The Panthers received a total of 36 points, including six first-place votes, securing the top spot. Close behind was Assumption University with 31 points and one first-place vote. The rest of the rankings were rounded out by Southern New Hampshire (25), Bentley (20), Saint Anselm (16), Franklin Pierce (11), and American International (8).
Most recently, the Panthers placed 10th at the Sunnehanna Intercollegiate. Prior to that, they finished first as a team at the Granite State Opener and second at the George Cangero Invitational.
Leading the way for Adelphi has been Johnny Solari, who was co-champion at the Granite State Opener. Solari shot an impressive seven-under-par 65, marking a career-best round during the tournament.
Other key contributors for the Brown and Gold include last year's NE10 player of the year, Mitchell Archer, who has consistently placed near the top of the leaderboard. Freshman Zeus Sara has made an immediate impact, earning two top-five finishes so far this season.
Senior Francis Lanuza earned NE10 player of the week honors following a second-place finish at the George Cangero Invitational during week one of play. Freshman Ike Rothman generated buzz after a strong fifth-place finish in New Hampshire.
The NE10 Championship will take place from Wednesday, Oct. 8, through Thursday, Oct. 9, at Candia Woods Golf Club in Candia, N.H., where head coach David Mattana and the Panthers will look to bring the hardware back to Garden City—just as they did in 2023.
