Field Hockey's Lee Recognized on NFHCA Division II Watchlist

8/29/2024 3:30:00 PM

Manahawkin, N.J. - Adelphi University field hockey standout Amanda Lee has been announced as a selection to the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association Division II Watchlist, the organization announced Thursday afternoon.

The NFHCA Division II Watchlist is made up of 48 returning athletes with the strongest potential for consideration for the 2024 NFHCA All-America teams.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have been recognized for their outstanding field hockey abilities within the past two years. Lee was named NE10 Second Team All-Conference in 2022 and 2023, scoring 26 goals across the last two seasons.

The Stony Brook, N.Y. native also stands a mere glimpse from history within the Adelphi field hockey program. Standing just seven goals away from all-time leader Julianne Gerbino '12 and 18 points away from second place in the career points category, the forward has already entered the upper echelon of past Panthers.

Lee's recognition was the sole for the 'Cats this season, with Bentley leading the NE10 with four selections. The PSAC had two schools tie at five with Bloomsburg and 2023 National Champions Kutztown.

The Brown and Gold will play their first game in the Palmetto State against Limestone University on Friday, Sept. 6. Game action is scheduled to get underway at 7:00 p.m.
