Philadelphia, Pa. - The student-athletes that represented Adelphi at the historic Penn Relays came back with some hardware, as two sets of relays finished third in their respective races.
After the men's 4x100 advanced to the finals and put up a season best time, the quartet of
Nicholas Stiehler,
John Perez,
Bryce Ridley and
Bryan Combary raced to a third place finish with a time of
3:24.46 in the Collge CTC event. This falls right behind second place finisher New Haven by .80 seconds.
On the women's side, the 4x100 squad featuring
Claire O'Regan,
Christina Gayle,
Amari Johnson and
Valencia Beaubrun landed a spot in the Saturday finals after a 49.52 performance put them in the top-eight.
Most notably of the weekend was the effort from
Carly Koprowski,
Isabel Marsh,
Sumaira Mayan and
Katherine Marsh as they raced to an 8:55.06 time in the 4x800 which stands as a new NCAA Division II record (although the specialty is not contested at the Outdoor NCAA Championship). It is also a new program best time as the Marsh twins recorded their fastest splits of the season as the crew placed third in a Division I-heavy event.
The entire track and field program will be together next weekend at the 2024 Northeast-10 Outdoor Championship, hosted by Southern Connecticut State. More details on the weekend's events can be found at the
championship central page.
