3/8/2024 9:11:00 PM

Pittsburg, KS - Departing New York with three of the major award winners from the Northeast-10 Conference, the Adelphi women's indoor track and field program competed at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship at Pittsburg State University.

NE10 Track Athlete of the Year Katherine Marsh and her twin sister Isabel Marsh returned to the national indoor stage for the second consecutive season, after racing a season ago in Virginia Beach. The pair went third and fourth in their heat of the prelims for the 800, clocking in at 2:09.76 and 2:10.49, respectively. Both times are better than their 2023 marks, as they place ninth and 14th in the field of 17 competitors. K.Marsh's time fell .46 seconds short of qualifying for Saturday's finals.

For her efforts, Katherine earned USTFCCCA All-America Second Team honors.

In addition to racing the 800, both Marsh sisters joined Sumaira Mayan and NE10 Track Rookie of the Year Carly Koprowski for the Women's Distance Medley Relay, an event the quartet won at the conference championship meet. Heading into NCAAs, the squad posted a season-best and qualifying time of 11:37.96 at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational in early February.

With a tough field, the Panthers finished 12th with a time of 12:06.59.

The winning team out of Adams State set both a meet and facility record with its winning time of 11:17.98.

Adelphi's athletes will return to New York and shift focus to the outdoor season which is slated to begin Friday, March 22 at the Fred Hardy Invitational hosted by the Richmond Spiders in Richmond, Virginia.
