Mahwah, NJ - Five 10K athletes from Adelphi track and field had the opportunity to race on Friday ahead of the Panthers second team meet at Monmouth University on Saturday. 

For the women, Juliet Felice returned to the track for a fourth place finish in a time of 41:33.18 to lead the Panthers. This was her first collegiate 10K, following her career-best 19:19.48 finish in the 5K last weekend in Richmond. Maddie Gerby also ran her first collegiate 10K, placing sixth in a time of 44:41.28. Rounding out the trio of racers for the Cats was Maggie Hannan, who crossed the tape in 46:26.31, just two minutes off her career-best time of 44:20.81. 

On the men's side, Jake Orfano crossed first for the Panthers, clocking in at 33:42.86 - this sits just 30 seconds more than his career best time of 33:12.08 which he ran at last year's Northeast-10 Championship. Having only run a 10K on a cross country course, Matthew Paolo completed his first outdoor track event in a time of 35:35.71 - which sits a minute off his best XC time. 

The Adelphi track and field program will be full strength today at the Monmouth Season Opener hosted by Monmouth University.
