Women's Swim & Dive Battles at SCSU

New Haven, Conn. - Putting up a respectable fight, the Adelphi University women's swimming and diving team fell 115-161 to the 16-time Northeast-10 Champion Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday. 

Meet Notes:
  • Emily Munayirji was the high point earner for the Cats, coming away with two top swims and two second place finishes on the afternoon. She was first in the 100 backstroke with a sub-60 second time (59.70) which is best in the NE10 and first in the 200 backstroke - her 2:09.68 ranks her seconds in the league.
  • Aizel Pusing was best in show for the 100 breaststroke, with a time of 1:10.50, which ranks fourth in the conference thus far in the season - she also placed first in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:31.88.
  • Kelly Tula earned nine points for Adelphi with her 2:18.12 in the 200 butterfly - she swam two seconds faster than the next competitor from SCSU - and also has the fourth-best time in the NE10. 
  • Melaney Arevalo dove uncontested in both the one-meter and three-meter events, scoring 156.63 and 150.23, respectively. 
  • Delaney Noel and Natalia Brulinski recorded points in the women's 500 freestyle, as the latter also collected points from her finish in the 200 IM

Adelphi will now prepare for the ECAC Winter Championship, starting December 6 at the Nassau Aquatic Center
