Pleasantville, N.Y. - A week past the season opener, the Adelphi University swimming and diving program found themselves back in the pool, this time competing at Pace University on Friday evening.
The women suffered an 88-139 defeat while the men picked up their first dual meet victory of the season, with a commanding 174-48 win.
Men's Highlights:
- Picked up wins in both the 400 freestyle and 200 medley relay events. Valerii Pidhoretskyy contributed to both top swims. He was also first in the 50 free with a time of 21.09 (stands .5 off his Adelphi record of 20.59).
- Ryan Kakimseit was top in the 200 IM and 100 back as well as the anchor leg of the 400 free relay.
- Connor Singer and Gus Upchurch both finished first in both events that they raced as did Tyler Romero on the diving board.
Women's Highlights:
- Angelina Fazzino topped the field by over a minute in the 1000 freestyle race, posting a time of 11:36.63, while the next finisher clocked in at 12:46.44. She also placed second in the 500 free race and was the anchor lef on the second place medley relay squad.
- Aizel Pusing and Emily Munayirji both had 1-2 finishes in their respective events and both swam in the medley relay.
- Laura Moran was a twp-time second place finishes in the 200 IM and 100 back
The programs are back in action on Friday, Oct. 24 when they take on the Dolphins from the College of Staten Island at 4:00 p.m..
