KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches has announced the recipients of the 2022-23 NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards and NABC Honors Court, representing outstanding achievement in the classroom by men's college basketball teams and student-athletes, which includes Adelphi men's hoops and six individuals.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize men's basketball programs that completed the 2022-23 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2022-23 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
"It's great for members of our program to be recognized for achievements beyond the court and especially in the classroom," said Head Coach Dave Duke.
Earning honors court recognition were Andrew Delaney, Aristotelis Sotiriou, Niv Rosenholtz, Elijah Perry, Ronnie Silva and Zachary Feingold. The team boasted a 3.318 cumulative grade point average for the 2022-23 school year
The men's basketball team made its return to the Northeast-10 Conference playoffs but were bounced in the opening round by Pace University. Silva wrapped up his career as the program's leading scorer (2,048 points), a two-time NE10 Sport Excellence Award winner and a three-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-American.
