Garden City, N.Y. - Capping a successful school year, the accolades continue to roll in as College Sports Communicators announced the student-athletes named to the 2022-23 Academic All-America® Women's and Men's At-Large teams this week.
Representing Adelphi for the women were first-time honorees
Bianca Bachisin from field hockey and
Alexandra Beebe from women's lacrosse as
Joseph Duchnowski was honored as a men's lacrosse athlete.Â
Bachisin is the third Adelphi athlete to be honored all-time and joins the elite company of teammate
Jackie Brown (2021) and Molly Cuevas (2015). The team's lead inserter on penalty corners, Bachisin finished among the Top 10 goalscorers in the NE10 in 2022 with eleven goals and earned NFHCA Second Team All-America merits in the process. Additionally, Bachisin posted a stellar 3.98 undergraduate and perfect 4.0 graduate grade-point average in the classroom.
Becoming the seventh women's lacrosse player to be honored, Beebe was namedthe 2023 NE10 Defensive Player of the Year, boasting a 3.58 GPA to earn inclusion on the Academic All-America Third Team. An IWLCAÂ All-American and nursing major, Beebe ranked among the league's leaders in caused turnovers.
Duchnowski is also the first men's lacrosse honoree since 2021 and is the fourth all-time. Coming off his NE10 Player of the Year season, he maintained a 3.691 cumulative grade-point average during his undergrad and a 3.80 in his graduate studies and led all Adelphi attackmen on the field with 65 points (41 goals, 24 assists), earning Adelphi's Male Athlete of the Year award. For his efforts he was voted to the CSC Academic All-America Second Team this season.Â
