Mansfield, Mass. - After coming away with two gold medal finishes at the 2023 Northeast-10 Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Kyria Moore has been named the Field Athlete of the Year, announced by the league office on Tuesday. 

The transfer joined the Panthers this past fall after a career at Stony Brook and made an immediate impact in the women's throws department for Adelphi. She was responsible for a career-best launch of 20.81 in the weight throw which earned her a spot at the 2023 Indoor Track and Field championships where she ended as the eventual runner up in the specialty. 

This spring, she placed first in both the hammer throw and shotput at NE10s, while also securing a seventh place position in the discus. At the Penn Relays she was responsible for a throw of 59.24 which all but solidified her position in the NCAAs this week. Her hammer throw was over one meter better than the silver medalist and she was .07 better in the shotput to defeat a competitor from Franklin Pierce.

Moore will participate on Thursday, May 25, at the 2023 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships as a qualifier in the hammer throw. The event is set to take place beginning at 12:30 p.m. and will be streamed here.
