Moore Impresses in First Outdoor Meet, Track Opens Season at Monmouth

Monmouth, NJ - In its first outdoor meet of the season, the Adelphi University track and field program came away with several impressive performances, to kick off the season at the 27th Annual Monmouth University Track & Field Season Opener.

Kyria Moore was responsible for an incredible mark in the hammer throw, launching the best distance in the East Region and fourth best in Division II at the Monmouth meet. Her longest mark toss in the competition came on her final attempt when she threw 58.23 meters.

Amari Johnson ran the best 100 hurdles race in the East Region over the weekend - her time of 14.48 was second overall and just .24 off a provisional mark for Division II. 

Katherine Marsh ran the best time in the 1500 meter race in the region clocking in at 4:42.34 to place second in the field behind an athlete from Division I Siena.

On the men's side, Christopher Holt secured a top-10 finish in the 400 meter race, with a time of 50.14 for a new personal best in the specialty outdoors. Nicholas Nanan also put up a PR in the 400 at 53.36, coming in fourth in his section. 

In the 110 hurdles, Bryan Combary, David Williams and Luke Sulli all finished in the otp-10 overall as Combary led the way with his PR time of 15.11 for third in the field. 

Adelphi will split the next weeked as a crew heads to the Colonial Relays hosted by William and Mary and the rest attend the AIC Yellow Jacket Invite.
