Virginia Beach, VA - Racing in their first-ever NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, both Katherine and
Isabel Marsh qualified to compete this season in the 800 meter event.
Ultimately making the finals, Isabel earned a spot on the podium after running a 2:11.30 to place seventh overall in the finals. A quick start for the East Meadow native, her split times at both the 200 (29.78) and 400 (62.42) was the fastest start to a race she's put together this season. For her efforts, she earns United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) First Team All-America honors for the first time in her career.
Vanessa Aniteye, a senior out of Seattle Pacific won the event outright in a time of 2:06.84.
Katherine Marsh finished tenth overall in her first NCAA indoor outing, after placing third in her heat in a time of 2:11.78. She will earn second team All-America honors for her positioning.
Now, the twins will rejoin the full squad and begin preparing for the outdoor season, slated to begin on March 24 at Monmouth.
