Boston, Mass. - With a total of eight podium finishes, the Adelphi University women's track and field program tied their program best finish of third at the 2023 Northeast-10 Indoor Track and Field Championship, held at The Track at New Balance on Thursday and Friday.

The Panthers tie their best finish of third from 2017, besting their highest score of 89 from the same year, scoring 96 in 2023.

Katherine and Isabel Marsh each totaled four medals, after securing a one-two finish (respectively) in the 800 meter race and each running a leg of the distance medley relay, the 4x800 and the 4x400.

The Panthers have won gold in the 4x400 in the last three indoor championships (no indoor competition in 2021) but settled for the silver medal, alongside Claire O'Regan and Gabrielle Griffin. For the first time since 2010, Adelphi was crowned champion in the 4x800 as the Marsh twins teamed up with Fiona Maloney and Sumaira Mayan to win by over five seconds with a final clocking of 12:16.96.

Newcomer Kyria Moore made two individual appearances on the podium for her efforts in the throws pit, taking a landslide gold medal in the weight throw and placing third in the shotput. The fifth year transfer threw 4.38m farther than the second place winner out of Le Moyne College, landing a throw of 19.05m. In the shotput, Moore was only .05m from the gold medalist from Franklin Pierce, Tyra Felton.

Rounding out the individual accomplishments earning a silver medal was Rachel Tucci in the 3000 meter event. She shaved five seconds off her time from the Ramapo Opener in January to clock in at 10:44.59 for a new personal best to earn eight points for the Brown and Gold.

Panthers who are on the cusp of reaching provisional marks to attend the 2023 Indoor Track and Field Championships in Virginia Beach, will have some last chance meets to attend over the next few weekends as denoted on the team's schedule page. Otherwise, the outdoor season will commence on Friday, March 24 when the teams compete at the Monmouth Season Opener.
