Pittsburg, KS - Becoming the third and fourth Adelphi track and field athletes to hit NCAA provisional marks this season, the Marsh sisters raced at the site of the 2023 Indoor Track and Field Championship this weekend, at the Crimson and Gold Invitational.
Katherine and
Isabel Marsh join teammates Amary Johnson and
Bryan Combary on the qualifying list for Division II, both in the 800 meter event.
In Kansas, Katherine placed second in a time of 2:10.02, behind the top finisher out of Divison I, Tulsa. Isabel was the next to cross the finish line at 2:11.57 to place third in the field of 54. Opening the season at the Ocean Breeze Complex in Staten Island, the twins trekked to Pittsburg State to race on a 300-meter flat track, and also the home of the 2024 Indoor Championship.
Just two weekends into action, Katherine leads Division II with her time and sister, Isabel, sits fourth on the list.
A season ago, both Marsh's qualified for the Indoor Championship in Virginia Beach, VA where K. Marsh finished 10th overall in a time of 2:11.78 while Isabel made the final and clocked in at 2:11.30 to place seventh in the field.
The entire track and field team returns to action after the new year, when they compete at the Suffolk University Icebreaker on Saturday, Jan. 13.
