West Long Branch, NJ - With the Adelphi track and field program split between three different sites over the weekend, a squad headed to the Monmouth University Winter Collegiate Invitational on Saturday and Sunday to compete at the Hawks' indoor facility.
Christina Gayle headlined the women's action, placing second overall in the 60 meter dash (8.11) and also in the 200 meter event, clocking in at 27.78.
Personal bests for
Katherine Zagar landed in both the shotput and weight throw, as she recorded a 6.66m throw in the former and tossed an 11.64m launch in the weight throw to place eighth overall.
Matthew Wenz jumped a season-best height of 1.90m in the high jump and
Christopher Holt put up a third palce finish in the 60 meter dash with a 6.98 finals time for a new career-high and first time sub-seven seconds.
The squads will head back to Boston in two weekends (Feb. 10-11), ahead of the Northeast-10 Championships, which are scheduled to begin Feb. 16 at the Track at New Balance.
