Colorado Springs, Colo - The Adelphi University field hockey team has been informed that it will open their regular season off as the No. 9 nationally-ranked team across Division II, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced on Tuesday afternoon. 

Last year, the Panthers marked a 14-7 overall record, matching their single-season record for wins which was last accomplished in 2019.

Making an appearance in the NCAA Tournament for just the fourth time in program history, they look to continue off from the success of the previous season. 
 
The group has added five transfers and two international student-athletes from the Netherlands, Lotte de Jong and Mirthe Karstens. 

The Brown and Gold have returned the 2021 NE10 Player of the Year Kaylee Deleva and also Giana McKeough, who was selected on the All-Conference team last season.

The national poll presents five NE10 teams obtaining Top 10 nods. 

Assumption, who won the NE10 Championship last season, appeared at No. 4 in the NFHCA Division II National Coaches' Poll, while Saint Anselm, Bentley, and New Haven also cracked the Top 10. 

Adelphi will open up its season home against New Haven next Monday, at 2 p.m.
